Silvia Colloca is an Italian
actress. Colloca was born in Milan to Loredana and Mario Colloca. Her
first major film role was in Van Helsing, in which she played Verona, one
of Dracula's brides. In September 2004, she married the actor who played
Dracula in that film, Richard Roxburgh.
Silvia Colloca, known more for her theatre work in her home country in
Italy than as a Hollywood actor, got a role she could really sink her
teeth into when she was offered the to play Verona, Dracula's Queen bride
in Stephen Sommers' “Van Helsing”. Not only was she introduced to a vast
international audience, Silvia found the love of her life in Australian
co-star Richard Roxburgh, who played the infamuos Prince of Darkness and
married him in September 2004!
Silvia always wanted to be an actress and so her mother and father elected
to put her into acting school at the age of 13 where she studied drama for
7 years.
She also attended prestigious Music Academy of Milan for 4 years, where
she developed a mezzo-soprano voice, and this lead her in turn to many
notable Italian musical theatre productions. She worked in this time with
some outstanding directors, such as Maestro Giuseppe Patroni Griffi.
Following her role in Van Helsing, she starred in indipendent Italian
Movie “L'apocalisse delle scimmie”, directed by talented “Romano
Scavolini”, in the dramatic role of a junkie single mother .
She also co-starred alongside Wesley Snipes in the film “The Detonator”,
which marked Silvia Colloca's debut in a lead role in an American film.
In 2007, Colloca will also appear in the highly anticipated David Leland
film “ Virgin Territory”, alongside Hayden Christensen, Tim Roth and Misha
Barton.
Silvia Colloca plays the character of Sister Lisabetta, a rather liberated
nun that captivates Lorenzo ( Christensen) after he finds shelter in a
Tuscan convent.
For 2007 Silvia Colloca is currently set to star in another international
project.
In Dimitri Vorris “A Simple Love Story” she will portray the lead
character of Sophia in a sweeping story of love and hate, violence and
decadence, corruption and romance.
Silvia is also attached to co-star Claudio Macor's directorial debut “
"Out of the night"”, opposite husband Richard Roxburgh and screen legend
Peter O'Toole. |
