Michelle Marsh (born 30 September
1982) is a glamour model from Royton in Greater Manchester, England. She
has been a Page Three girl, has appeared in many men's magazines, has
featured on popular British television programmes, and has released a pop
single that reached number 89 in the UK singles chart. She is married to
footballer Will Haining and has one child.
Before becoming a model, Marsh worked as a care assistant for the elderly
at the Royley House Nursing Home in her hometown of Royton.
She received national media attention in 2001, at the age of eighteen,
when she placed second in The Sun tabloid newspaper's "National Cleavage
Week" contest. In 2002, she won the "Search for a Babe" contest run by The
Daily Star, and began appearing topless as a "Star Babe" in that newspaper
later that year. Between 14 March 2003 and 23 December 2004 she appeared
thirty times as a Page Three girl in The Sun, which hailed her as "the new
Samantha Fox."
Marsh went on to appear in men's magazines such as Loaded, Perfect 10,
Nuts, Maxim, Zoo and Playboy. From the beginning of her career, Marsh was
regularly partnered with Lucy Pinder, with whom she has appeared in
magazines, television and corporate appearances.
In 2003, Marsh flew to Iraq to entertain British troops serving abroad.
Her picture was painted on a Harrier jet, which was renamed "Michelle
Belle" in her honour. In 2006, she spent three weeks entertaining British
troops stationed in Afghanistan.
In May 2007, she entered the Miss Great Britain contest as Michelle Marsh
as Miss Oldham alongside Nicola Tappenden as Miss Croydon. Marsh came in
4th place beating Tappenden who came in 10th place.
On 6 November 2006, Marsh released her first pop music single "I Don't
Do," which spent two weeks in the UK singles chart, peaking at number 89.
She has also recorded a cover version of Alanis Morissette's song
"Ironic."
Marsh featured in the music video for 4-4-2's single "Come on England",
released before the UEFA Euro 2004 football championships.
Marsh first appeared on television in 1999, aged sixteen, as an extra on
the Channel 4 soap opera Brookside.
Since achieving recognition as a glamour model, Marsh has made several
mainstream television appearances. She featured as a contestant on The X
Factor: Battle of the Stars, where she finished in seventh place out of
nine acts. She also presented the second series of The Steam Room and
starred in two reality television series, Trust Me - I'm a Beauty
Therapist and CelebAir.
In September 2007, while pregnant with her first child, she appeared as a
contestant on a special charity edition of BBC quiz show The Weakest Link,
which featured glamour models with romantic connections to footballers.
She also made a guest appearance on the 2009 edition of Celebrity Big
Brother.
As an actress, Marsh has played minor roles in episodes of the television
series Hotel Babylon and Life. She also appears in the 2009 feature film
Clubbed.
Marsh became engaged to footballer Will Haining on Valentines Day 2005. On
2 June 2007 Marsh and Haining married in Scotland at Auchen Castle near
Moffat, with the groom telling guests that Marsh was pregnant with their
first child. On December 16, 2007 Marsh gave birth to her daughter,
Maddison. |
