Izabella Dorota Scorupco was born
June 4th, 1970. She lived in Bialystock, Poland, with her parents, Lech
and Magdalena. At age one, her mother, who was a doctor, left her father.
They moved to Sweden when Izabella was eight, and settled in Stockholm.
In 1989, she was cast as Annelie, in the Swedish film Ingen kan alska som
vi, and became a teenage idol. In that same year, she released a single
"Substitute" which went gold in Sweden. She released two albums and a few
hit singles before ending her singing career. Izabella began pursuing her
modelling career and appeared in many magazines and other advertisements.
In 1994 she returned to her acting career and starred in the mediaeval
film Petri Tarar, as Carla Marcellini. In 1995, she became the Bondgirl of
Goldeneye. She played the role of Natalya Simonova, which she is best
known for.
In December 1996, Izabella married hockey-player Mariusz Czerkawski. The
following September, Iza gave birth to a daughter, Julia. Izabella and
Mariusz divorced last year.
Iza's next role was as Helena in the Polish film, Ogniem I Mieczem, which
is set in the 17th century. The film was released in 1998. In 1999, the
filming of her 7th movie, Dykaren, began. That same year, filming for her
second American film, The Vertical Limit, started. She played Monique
Aubertine, a Canadian medic. The film came out in the U.S. December 2000.
Recently, Izabella has been doing publicity work for the Swedish Cosmetic
Company, Oriflame. Oriflame runs her official site. In Feburary, filming
began for her latest project, Reign of Fire. |
